Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How to get an estimate for moving?

Answer: To estimate your move we encourage you to fill out our Online Quote Form.
Alternatively and at any time you can give us a Call at 416-579-6683 and get all the information on your inventory and other important details to provide you with the quote.

Question: When is the best time to move?

Answer: If there is a choice, most companies suggest you to avoid the summer, beginning or end of the month or winter holidays. The heaviest demands are placed on trucks, equipment and personnel during these periods.

However, you should move when it’s most convenient for you. Factors involved in the decision may include:

• Whether the move must be made immediately.
• Transferring children during the school term.
• Separation of the family while the move is under way.

If the move can be scheduled for a time when trucks and personnel are most readily available, we’ll be better equipped to meet your preferred delivery schedule.

Question: How long does it take to move?

Answer: It depends on many factors, including the time of the year, weather conditions, time required to load and unload, and the direction and distance your shipment is traveling. Pick-up and delivery dates are usually scheduled according to your needs.

Question: What type of truck and equipment should I expect from Move4Less?

Answer: Move4Less provides quality transportation on fully equipped, professional moving trucks. These trucks are equipped with furniture blankets (to prevent scratches), dollies (to transfer furniture and boxes), and loading ramps (to decrease the amount of loading and unloading time).

Question: How we determine travel time?

Answer: Travel time is ”the time it takes for crew to travel to your origin from their dispatch, and return trip upon completion”. Travel time is not the time it takes to travel from your old apartment to your new apartment; that is part of the work time. Move4Less determines total travel time (1 hour flat for moves in Toronto). Some movers will charge you the exact time it takes; the “start time” shown on the contract will show the time the crew left the terminal to go to your old address, and will charge for the return trip.

Question: What is the minimum charge?

Answer: Most companies have a minimum number of work hours. Move4Less has three hours (2 hours of labour plus 1 hour traveling

time).

Question: When should I call a moving company?

Answer: The earlier, the better. Depending on the time of the year, we could possibly accommodate you within a week. Please call our office and ask about availability if you need move on short notice.

Question: How much will my move cost?

Answer: Basic charges depend on the amount of space used in the trailer, the distance your shipment travels and a 9% fuel charge.

Question: How and when should I pay?

Answer: Tariff provisions require that all charges be paid before your shipment is unloaded at destination. Payment for your move can be made by one of the following methods: cash, money order, certified check, cashier’s check, credit card (note that 5% surcharge for credit card will apply). Personal or company checks are not accepted.

Question: Do I tip the movers?

Answer: Like all over service businesses, movers generally receive a gratuity upon completion. You should never feel pressured into giving at tip.

Question: Can Move4Less provide services for large household moves?

Answer: Move4Less can provide service for any size move you may have. Big or Small We Move Them All!!!
